A total of 46 job aspirants were hired-on-the spot during the “Project Dapat: Job Fair” of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with the Parañaque city government on Thursday, October 10.

Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said the job fair was  conducted to help displaced Philippine Offshore Gaming Operation (POGO) workers after the President declared the complete ban on the industry during his State of the Nation Address (SONA) in July due to its links with various illegal activities such as scams and human trafficking.

The event, which was held at Ayala Malls Manila Bay and was participated by 59 companies, was spearheaded by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO).

A total of 8,000 job vacancies were offered during the fair while 435 job applicants attended the event.
