Parañaque LGU recognized for topnotch income generating efforts


The Parañaque City government bagged two awards from the Department of Finance (DOF) and the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines, Inc. (AGAP) for its exceptional income generating efforts.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez announced that the city was cited as Top 3 among highly urbanized cities for year-on-year growth in local sourced income for fiscal year 2022.
Olivarez said the DOF mandates to monitor local in fiscal and financial performance and the bureau takes on the initiative to give due recognition to top performing provinces, cities and municipalities towards economic development and sustainability.
He said according to the DOF, the city has performed impressively through the work of City Treasurer Anthony Pulmano’s commitment and effectiveness in revenue generation and resource mobilization that makes remarkable fiscal and financial achievement.
Pulmano, on behalf of Olivarez, received the award during the Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) 37th anniversary stakeholders recognition on October 9 held at Seda Manila Bay Hotel.
Meanwhile, AGAP cited the City Accounting Office under Marilou Tanael for its outstanding accounting office for 2023.
The mayor also congratulated Tanael for the effective and efficient use of the city funds for city projects and programs benefiting the city residents.
