Central Luzon COC filing peaceful; 163 loose guns turned over

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office-3 said the filing of Certificates of Candidacy from October 1 to 8 for the May elections in Central Luzon was generally peaceful.

MARANAN inspects loose guns turned over to the police in Central Luzon.

PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan said a total of 3,384 candidates filed their COCs.

Maranan said they are clamping down on loose firearms to secure the elections.

From October 1 to October 9, 2024, he said 163 loose firearms were confiscated or surrendered to the police theough the implementation of search warrants and “Revitalized Katok."

"Our intensified operations against loose firearms and the successful execution of the COC filing demonstrate our commitment to ensuring a secure and peaceful electoral process.”

We will continue to work diligently to uphold public safety in Central Luzon as we approach the 2025 elections, he added.
