US gov't to hold education fair in Makati

​The United States Embassy in Manila will hold on Oct. 9 an education fair, where opportunities to study in the US are being offered.

US Ambassador to the Philippines MaryKay Carlson encouraged the public to attend the event and choose the US as the next destination to study because the country has "thousands of academic programs, world-class institutions, and unmatched flexibility."

"The United States offers a wealth of higher-education opportunities that you will not find anywhere else in the world," Carlson said.

The fair will take place at the Atrium of One Ayala mall in Makati City from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A total of 43 US colleges and universities will participate in this year’s event, making it the largest ever EducationUSA University Fair organized in Manila to date, according to the embassy.

Admission to the EducationUSA University Fair is free and open to all students, parents, and educators interested in US higher education. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online: educationusa.ph/Fair2024.

During the event, representatives of participating US higher education institutions will provide information on admissions procedures, academic programs, student life, and scholarship opportunities.

The US embassy's consular officers will also offer guidance on the student visa application process.
