Fuel distributor and retail company Unioil Petroleum Philippines, Inc. has expanded its terminal operations from Luzon to Cebu, aiming to provide accessible and cleaner oil in the Visayas region.
In a statement, Unioil announced the opening of its new fuel terminal in Brgy. San Isidro, San Fernando, Cebu. With a capacity of 100 million liters, this terminal will serve as a central supply hub for eco-friendly fuel in the region, including Bohol, Leyte, Masbate, Negros, Panay, Samar, and Surigao.
Since 2012, Unioil has been at the forefront of integrating advanced fuel standards in Luzon.
“The new terminal in Cebu represented a significant step in Unioil’s growth strategy,” the firm stated.
“The Cebu terminal was designed to store imported Euro 5 compliant fuels; with a maximum sulfur content of 10 parts per million, it is 5x cleaner compared to other conventional fuels,” it added.
In addition to providing more fuel options to consumers in the Visayas, Unioil said this expansion will bring economic benefits, reflecting the company’s dedication to sustainability and community development.
Janice Roxas-Chua, Unioil’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed her belief that this new terminal will greatly benefit areas beyond Luzon.
“The launch of the Cebu terminal marks another milestone in Unioil’s 58-year history. It demonstrates our commitment to growth and our vision to serve the Visayas and Mindanao regions,” she said.
Kenneth Pundanera, President of Unioil, also voiced his support for economic growth, stating, “Our new terminal reflects our dedication to operational excellence and customer satisfaction. We are committed to the economic and environmental well-being of the communities we serve by providing top-tier fuel solutions.”
