“I am certain that with the continued support and trust of our ‘kasimanwa’ (townmate) in his bid for a second term, he will not only meet expectations, but exceed delivering even better services for Antique and all Antiqueños,” said Sen. Legarda when Rep. Legarda filed his Certificate of Candidacy before the provincial Commission on Elections  in the capital town of San Jose de Buenavista on Tuesday, October 1.

According to Antique Election Officer Wil Arceño, Rep. Legarda was the first provincial candidate in Antique to file a COC.

Rep. Legarda assured he will continue the programs that he started as congressman and when Sen. Legarda was congresswoman from 2019 to 2022.

He emphasized that his work is not yet finished in terms of social services as well as infrastructure projects.

“We have faced numerous challenges from the pandemic to the devastation caused by recent typhoons, but we have made ourselves resilient,” he said.

“I am committed to pushing forward, addressing the needs of our province, and securing important programs and projects like livelihood and medical assistance, scholarship programs, flood control, public water supply systems, and the construction of multi-purpose buildings that will serve as evacuation centers during calamities,” added Rep. Legarda.

The Legardas did not grow up in Antique but they have maternal roots in the town of Pandan.
