Joy Belmonte seeks 3rd term as QC mayor

Incumbent Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte filed her Certificate of Candidacy (COC) for her third term at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) satellite office in Amoranto Sports Complex, Quezon City on Tuesday afternoon, October 1.

“The legacy of the Belmonte administration is not just about the number of buildings and houses we have built, the job and livelihood opportunities we have created, and the reforms we have institutionalized,” Mayor Belmonte said in a statement.

“It is how we have improved the lives of our QCitizens and earned their trust in the past five years. It is the resounding vote of confidence from the business sector, even amid the pandemic and other challenging situations. Ultimately, what matters most is the lasting impact we have made on the people we serve,” she added.

Her running mate, Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, also filed his COC for a third term.

Belmonte assured the QCitizens that she will continue to improve the lives of the residents.

"Sa aking ikatlong termino, titiyakin natin na maisakatuparan ang mga pangarap natin para sa bawat QCitizen at gagawing realidad ang adhikain na sa ating lungsod, lahat ay kasama sa pag-unlad (In my third term, we will ensure that our dreams come true for every QCitizen and make the aspiration of our city, everyone is included in development)," she said.

Also present during the filing were former House Speaker Sonny Belmonte, former Senator Tito Sotto, 1st District Representative Arjo Atayde, and 3rd District Representative Franz Pumaren.

Belmonte and Sotto are running under the Serbisyo sa Bayan Party (SBP).
