Comelec Muntinlupa records zero COCs on first day of filing
No candidate submitted a certificate of candidacy (COC) on the first day of filing in Muntinlupa for the May 12, 2025 national and local elections.
Election officer Atty. Kimberly Joy Alzate-Cu of the Commission on Elections (Comelec)-Muntinlupa office said they recorded zero COCs on Oct. 1.
The Comelec set the filing of COCs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Oct. 1 to 8.

The local Comelec office opened at 8 a.m. and put up decorations like balloons and tarpaulins to welcome candidates.
Candidates can file their COCs with the Comelec Muntinlupa office, located on the fourth floor of South Park Center in Alabang, for the positions of mayor, vice mayor and councilors.
Voters in Muntinlupa will elect eight councilors in each of the two districts. District 1 is composed of Barangays Tunasan, Poblacion, Putatan and Bayanan while District 2 is composed of Barangays Alabang, Ayala Alabang, Buli, Sucat, and Cupang.
