The MOA signing was attended by SSS Executive Vice President Voltaire Agas and other SSS executives.

According to the city government, the AlkanSSSya Program provides self-employed members with social insurance and other services such as salary and housing loans, funeral, maternity, disability, death, and retirement benefits.

"Through the program, workers in the informal sector are able to save through contributions of only P11 per day. The program aims to ensure informal sector workers’ access to affordable social protection." SSS said.

"Laking tulong ito para sa ating mga tricycle drivers dito sa lungsod. Kumbaga, isa itong magandang insurance at retirement plan para sa ating mga tatay na maghapong namamasada. Kung tumanda o kakailanganin man ay mayroon silang makukuhang mga benipisyo (This is a big help for our tricycle drivers in the city. The program provides an insurance and retirement plan for our tricycle drivers who are beating the heat just to earn enough for their families. Once they retire or in case of emergencies, they will receive their benefits courtesy of the agency)," Antipolo City Mayor Jun Ynares said.

The city government continues to expand the knowledge and capabilities of its TODA members for them to be able to respond to emergency cases and disasters.

In January last year, 300 TODA members were taught first-aid and basic life support techniques to prepare them as first aiders during emergencies.

The initial batch of tricycle drivers was given training on the basic procedure to save a person in distress or those involved in accidents on the road.
