Beach hopping across the island

Guam’s beaches are its crown jewels, and Aileen makes sure to highlight the island's best spots for all types of travelers. One of the beaches she highlighted is Tumon Bay Beach, which is ideal for families and groups. It is one of Guam’s most famous stretches of sand, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Its iconic clear waters provide ample opportunities for spotting marine life.

There is also Gun Beach, which Aileen pertained to as “a great spot that is tranquil and scenic,” making it an ideal retreat for those seeking serenity and relaxation. She also featured Family Beach, which as its name suggests, a beach perfect for those traveling with children. Its calm waters outside Apra Harbor are great for swimming and water-based activities.

Explore the island hassle-free, in style

Even for solo travelers, she encourages all to rent a car to explore the island as driving is easy and stress-free on Guam. Whether you are a couple on a romantic getaway or a family looking for adventure, driving (especially with the top down) allows you to fully experience the island’s beauty.

“Spanning about 549 sq. km, it is also a joy to drive through the island as you take it easy to visit various key spots. If you ask me, this is my top favorite must-do when on the island.” she wrote in her blog.

“To date, there are a number of reliable rental car companies that you can choose from, but I highly recommend Hertz! I acquired my car rental from them and the process from pick-up to drop-off was absolutely hassle-free,” she added.

She recommended places in central Guam such as the Dulce Nombre de Maria Cathedral-Basilica and Fort Apugan for history buffs. Families will also love the Guam Museum as it offers interactive exhibits for both kids and adults.

In the north, she was thrilled to visit Ritidian Point for its stunning views and wildlife and hiking to Pågat Cave for a refreshing dip in its freshwater pool, perfect for adventurous families. Contact Boonie Stompers to see what guided hikes are available during your stay.

The south offers its own charm, with a mix of history and scenic beauty. Stop by historic sites such as Fort Nuestra Senora de la Soledad or learn about the CHamoru culture at Valley of the Latte.

Two Lovers Point is one of Guam’s most iconic landmarks, offering panoramic views from 368 feet above the ocean. The observation deck is a must-visit for couples, but families and solo travelers alike will appreciate the natural beauty and the legend of two lovers tied to the location’s history. She noted, “If you ask me, Two Lovers Point might just be the topmost known tourist attraction on the island; plus, as one of the four national natural landmarks of Guam, it is definitely one of the top things to do in Guam!”

These local flavors are perfect for sharing over a meal with friends or family.
