Rep. Jaye Lacson-Noel files COC for Malabon City Mayor

Incumbent Congresswoman Josephine Veronique “Jaye” Lacson-Noel filed her Certificate of Candidacy(COC) as Malabon City mayor on Monday, October 7, at the Robinsons Town Mall, Malabon City.

Lacson-Noel has served as the city’s Congresswoman for nearly 12 years, aiming to shift her public service to the local level.

Her running mate, actress and barangay chairwoman Angelika Dela Cruz, also filed her COC, accompanied by her sister Mika Dela Cruz, and husband, Nash Aguas.

Lacson-Noel’s slate of councilors submitted their respective COCs, joined by their families.

Lacson-Noel was accompanied by her husband, Florencio "Bem" Noel, who is running for the city’s lone congressional district seat.

Bem Noel, a former An Waray party-list representative, is seeking to reclaim a role in public service after the Comelec invalidated his group's credentials.

The couple will be facing off against the Sandoval duo—incumbent Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, who is seeking reelection, and her husband, former Congressman Ricky Sandoval, who is vying to return to the House of Representatives.

Lacson-Noel highlighted her long history of helping the people of Malabon, stating, "They have always known me to be 'matulungin.' Actually, matagal na nilang sinasabi ito sa akin. I think and I feel this is the right time. I would like to be given a chance to serve the people of Malabon at the local level (They have always known me to be 'helpful.' They’ve been telling me this for a long time. I think and feel that this is the right time. I would like to be given the chance to serve the people of Malabon at the local level," she said.

“I think I have enough experience and knowledge in dealing with the people of Malabon,” she added.
