Traslacion 2024: PRC provides assistance to 382 individuals
The Philippine Red Cross (PRC) has assisted over 380 individuals as the Traslacion returned on Monday, Jan. 9.

As of 11 a.m., the PRC summary of assistance updates showed that there was a total of 382 patients catered to during the procession.
Of this number, the PRC checked the vital signs of 155 individuals. It also recorded 135 minor cases and five major cases.
PRC also transported 21 individuals (16 in its Emergency Field Hospitals and five to the Philippine General Hospital).
Six individuals also received welfare assistance through Psychosocial First Aid. Meanwhile, 60 individuals (responders) were also given hot meals.
PRC said that chief complaints include minor cases such as abrasion, puncture, laceration, dizziness, burn, avulsion, and abdominal pain.
For major cases, PRC recorded head trauma (swelling), laceration, incision, and fainting.
For those who were transported to PRC Emergency Field Hospital, the reported complaints included fever, cough, dizziness, body weakness, vomiting, ankle sprain, chest pain, and numbness.
Those who were transported to a medical facility complained of abdominal pain (a pregnant individual).
Currently, there are 10 PRC First Aid Stations; eight welfare desks, and one Emergency Field Hospital.
PRC also mobilized 319 individuals and has 13 ambulances, a fire truck, a food truck, and a rescue boat on standby.
This year’s procession marked the return of Traslacion after a three-year suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Authorities expect hundreds of Catholic faithful to join the grand procession of the centuries-old image of the Black Nazarene during the Traslacion 2024.
