CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police destroyed marijuana plants worth over P1.4 million and nabbed eight wanted persons during a week-long campaign against crime in the Cordillera region from December 31 to January 6.
The Police Regional Office Cordillera-Regional Operations Division said three marijuana plantations were discovered in a series of eradication operations by the Benguet Police Provincial Office in Kibungan and Bakun, Benguet.
They found 7,350 fully grown marijuana plants with a standard drug price of P1.4 million.
These were burned after proper documentation and follow-up operations are being conducted to identify their cultivators.
The Baguio City Police Office arrested four wanted persons followed by the Apayao Police Provincial Office, Benguet PPO, Ifugao PPO, and Kalinga PPO with one each.
As a result of intensified police presence, 61 municipalities in the region and five police stations in Baguio City recorded zero crime incidents during the week.
