Parañaque LGU honors young athletes who competed in 2023 Batang Pinoy, Philippine National Games

The Parañaque city government recognized the young athletes who competed in the 2023 Batanga Pinoy and Philippine National Games last December.

The city government led by Mayor Eric Olivarez honored the young athletes on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Parañaque City Hall grounds.

Olivarez said the young athletes participated in different sports competitions like chess, cycling, gymnastic, judo, karatedo, lawn tennis, muay thai, taekwondo, swimming, wushu, archery, and dance sports.

He said the athletes ranked 12th in the overall medal tally in the competition, bringing home 18 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 15 bronze medals.

The mayor, who is a sports enthusiast, was very proud of the young athletes for giving pride to the city.

Olivarez also urged the City Youth and Sports Development Office to come up with different sports activities for the city youths to develop their talents.
