Quezon town acquires 5 new ambulances

SARIAYA, Quezon – This town on Monday, January 8, put into service five brand-new ambulances and turned over a pick-up truck to the Bureau of Fire Protection here.

Mayor Marcelo Gayeta said that these ambulances are free for patients needing immediate transport to the hospital to use.

"Wala pong gagastusin ang sinumang gagamit ng ambulansya. Libre po lahat, krudo at driver. Susunduin po mula sa bahay papunta sa ospital at ihahatid uli sa bahay nang libre (Anyone who use the ambulance don't have to spend anything, even for the fuel and driver. All is free of charge. The patient will be picked up from their homes and brought to the hospital and brought home again for free),” Gayeta said during the flag-raising ceremony and blessing of these vehicles.

"Ayoko na pong gagastos pa ang mahihirap nating mga kababayan para lang sa pagpapagamot kaya't hangga't kaya ko ay magpo-provide ang ating pamahalaan ng anumang pangangailangang medikal, lalo na ng mga mahihirap at mga nakakatanda (I don't want our indigent people to spend for their medical needs. I will continue to provide them, especially the elderly, with their health requirements)," Gayeta added.

Gayeta said all six vehicles were purchased for P10.4 million and the municipal government now has a total of 16 ambulances to serve the medical needs of 43 barangays.
