Magno vows to help Marina office expansion

DAVAO CITY – Presidential Assistant for Eastern Mindanao Leo Tereso Magno vowed to help the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina) expand its regional offices in Eastern Mindanao.

Magno pledged support after Marina Administrator Sonia Bautista Malaluan requested assistance to securing funding for the construction of their offices nationwide.

He said he would do his best to help the agency.

According to Malaluan, with these offices, the Marina would bring its services closer to people, particularly Filipino seafarers and their families. She said extended offices would provide a more convenient avenue for maritime services.

Last year, the Marina-Region 11 started the construction of their four-story building at the Davao Regional Government Center in Bago Oshiro in Mintal, this city.

Marina has initiated a new campaign to advocate for sustainable practices and foster inclusive growth within the maritime sector.

Malaluan is leading the campaign “Charting a Clean Course, Safely Sailing Together” that stresses Marina’s commitment to environmental stewardship and responsible governance.
