P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon stood firm on her innocence in a series of X posts Monday, Jan. 8--a day after it was reported that the Office of the Ombudsman approved the filing of graft charges against her.
Guanzon, a former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner, was both serious and playful in her response to the Ombudsman case. But she was insistent that she didn't do anything wrong.
"Hindi po ako nagnakaw sa gobyerno sa 25 years ko na panunungkulan," Guanzon said in an X post.
(I've never stolen from the government in my 25 years of service.)
"Hindi alo nagnakaw sa gobyerno. At maganda pa rin akoh ( I didn't steal from the government. And I'm still pretty)," she added.
On Sunday, it was learned that the Ombudsman approved the filing of graft charges against Guanzon for the alleged premature disclosure to the public in 2022 of confidential information on the disqualification case against then-candidate and now President Marcos that was then pending before the poll body.

Through her posts, Guanzon wanted to clarify to the public that the graft case had nothing to do with stealing from government coffers.
"Hindi po akp nagnakaw sa gobyerno (I didn't steal from government). That case filed by Topacio is related to my interviews about the F. Marcos Disqualificarion case. It was my duty to inform the public there were powerful people who were interfering in COMELEC and independce and the elections were at serious risk," she explained.
"And lets not forget this case in thr OMB is a retaliatory act of Ferdinand Topacio, whom I accused of Cyber Unjust Vexation and is facing trial in the RTC of Bacolod," claimed Guanzon, who is also a former Cadiz City mayor.
"Wala pa naman botohan noong na interview ako kaya walang vote ako na na disclose. Wala ring internal deliberations dahil ang ponente hi di nag submit ng desisyon na," she further said.
(The elections were yet to take place when I was interviewed, meaning I didn't disclose any vote. There were also no internal deliberations since the ponente didn't submit a decision.)
