Ex-village dad yields P1.3-M shabu in buy-bust

CEBU CITY – A former councilor in Barangay Tangke, Talisay City, southern Cebu was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Saturday night, January 7.

Romeo dela Cruz Santillan, 44, was arrested by operatives of the Intelligence Unit and Drug Enforcement Unit of the Cebu Police Provincial Office.

Police said packs of suspected shabu weighing at least 200 grams with an estimated value of P1.3 million were recovered from the suspect.

The suspect was placed under surveillance for weeks before he was arrested.

Further investigation will be conducted to identify the suspect’s possible cohorts, police said.
