Manila deploys medical, emergency equipment for Traslacion 2024

The local government of Manila deployed medical and emergency equipment for the upcoming Traslacion on Tuesday, Jan. 9.
The local government, through the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO), also set up an advanced medical post at Kartilya ng Katipunan beside the Manila City Hall to cater to minor patients during the activities of Feast of the Black Nazarene.

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan was joined by MDRRMO Director Arnel Angeles, City Engineer Armand Andres, and City Electrician Randy Sadac in the simulation exercises for the preparation of the biggest religious event in the city.
Director Angeles showcased the advanced medical post with a total of 30 beds for various emergency cases that may transpire during the procession and other religious activities.
The emergency command post is also located at the Kartilya, which will facilitate and organize all resources of the office for deployment.
Meanwhile, MDRRMO has implemented a red alert status, fully utilizing 1,013 of its manpower for the whole duration of the feast.
A total of 34 fire assets, 46 ambulances, 10 rescue boats, six utility vehicles, and 12 K9 units were also dispatched for the contingency plan.
