'Amihan' may still bring light rains to Metro Manila in next 3 days — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Jan. 7 said light rains may still persist in Metro Manila in the next three days due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan."

In PAGASA's 4 a.m. live broadcast, weather specialist Grace Castañeda said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of light rains or rain showers will be experienced in Metro Manila from Monday to Wednesday, Jan. 8 to 10.
In addition to the northeast monsoon, the country's weather in the next 24 hours may be influenced by the shear line and easterlies.
PAGASA said Bicol region, Eastern Visayas, Quezon, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line—a weather system where the cold northeasterly winds and warm easterlies converge.
PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, in Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the rest of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains may prevail due to the amihan.
In the rest of the country, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will also be felt because of the easterlies.
The public is also warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur during severe thunderstorms.
