In a message, she commemorated the Three Kings’ Day, describing their journey as one that shows their “faith, determination, and perseverance.”
“We remember the incredible journey of the three wise men, in search of the newborn King who brings the gift of salvation to mankind — Jesus Christ. It is a reminder that faith, determination, and perseverance are essential if we want to reach our destination, and achieve our goals,” she said.
“Take inspiration from the journey of the three Kings: let us nurture our faith, fortify our determination, and boost our perseverance,” the official added.
In the lives of Filipinos, Duterte furthered that “faith is the compass that helps us stay on course, guiding us through uncertainty and doubt.”
On the other hand, the Vice President exalted determination to be the “inner fire” that keeps people going.
“Perseverance is the resilience to keep striving for our goals, even when circumstances seem discouraging,” she said.
Three Kings’ Day celebrates the day in the story of the Three Wise Men, who gave gifts to Jesus Christ.
In other countries, this is the day when children get their Christmas presents, while some traditions include baking bread known as “king’s cake” to celebrate the occasion.
