Man arrested for making bomb joke during mass in Quiapo
A 42-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly made a joke that a bomb will explode during the first Friday mass in Quiapo Church on Friday, Jan. 5.

The Manila Police District-Sta Cruz Police Station (MPD-PS-3) identified the suspect as Dennis Garcia, a resident of Quezon City.
Authorities said the suspect was arrested after some parishioners complained to the police about the suspect who whispered to people that there was a bomb inside the church.
The suspect is now detained at MPD station 3 and will face charges for violation of Presidential Decree No. 1727, which declares as unlawful the malicious dissemination of false information of the willful making of any threat concerning bombs, explosives, or any similar device or means of destruction.
MPD Chief Col. Chief Arnold Thomas Ibay warned the public against making bomb scares especially during the Traslacion.
“Ipinagbabawal ho ang magbiro ng ganitong klase (bomb joke), may okasyon o wala lalung-lalo na po ngayon na alam naman po natin na siksikan po ay makakapag-cause ito ng kaguluhan kaya huwag po nilang gawin dahil mahaharap po sila sa kaukulang kaso at the same time eh tignan po natin yung maaaring maging epekto nito sa ating mga magsisimba (Making bomb jokes is not allowed especially in a place that is crowded, it can cause panic, so they should not do it because they will face case charges, and at the same time, let's think about the possible effect it may have on our churchgoers),” he said.
