Kapuso actor Derrick Monasterio reassures fans about his sexuality and confirms that he is straight.

During an episode of "Fast Talk With Boy Abunda" on GMA Network recently, Boy Abunda asked Derrick: "Yes or no? Are you gay?"

Derrick answered: "No!'

Boy asked the question due to lingering speculations that Derrick might be gay. Prior, Boy told Derrick wanted to ask the question with so much respect, adding that there was nothing wrong with being gay.

Elle Villanueva, Derrick's girlfriend, admitted that he also asked his boyfriend about the gender issues.

You don't have to worry. Sorry mommy, if you're watching.

Bakla? Paano nangyari yun?" said Elle.

Derrick said: "Hindi ko talaga alam paano ia-act noong na-meet ko yung mom niya. Dapat ba malambot?"

Elle said he asked Derrick if he was gay. "I'm very straightforward with him."

"I am more bothered na ginagamit nilang pang-asar ang pagiging bakla. Kasi there no such thing.

Asked of the Kapuso stars were living together, Elle said: "Nag-i-sleep po kami sa kanya-kanyang bahay. But we're not living together."

"But I have plans to live with her in the future," Derrick said.
