Manila Bulletin throws full support to PH Underwater Hockey Team

The Philippine Men's Master Underwater Hockey Team gets a major boost for its upcoming campaign in the 8th Asian Underwater Hockey Championships with Manila Bulletin throwing its support for the Filipino representatives in the tournament slated Aug. 8 at the Singapore Sports School.

The squad will compete against Asian rivals with team captain Carlos de Guzman leading the charge along with Raymond Yap, Raymund John Musa, Emmanuel Floresca, Dr. Benson Martinez and Herb Baylon.

Joining them are Aboy Capili, Victor Burgos, Allan Caroche, Edric Ochoa, Bon Nelson Sibulan, Jose Kristopher Serrano, Emanuel Calso and Joel Beloy. Serving as playing coach is Leonard Samonte.

"Manila Bulletin is proud to support the Manila Bulletin Masters Team as title sponsor as it aligns nationalism and the country's international quest of gold medals and sportsmanship," said Yap, who is the team vice captain.

De Guzman, meanwhile, believes that the support from the nation's leading newspaper is vital in boosting the morale of the team ahead of the continental competition.

"Our partnership with Manila Bulletin is a significant step towards elevating our presence in Underwater Hockey. This support is vital in our quest for success at the AUHC, showcasing our team’s skill and dedication on an international platform. We are deeply thankful for this partnership, which bolsters our commitment and focus on achieving notable success at the upcoming championships," de Guzman noted.
