BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – A 48-year-old mechanic died after he was crushed by the crop shear machine of a steel manufacturing company in Barangay Tubigan here on Tuesday afternoon, January 30.
Police said the victim, Dionel Atienza, of Barangay Canlalay, this city, had just finished repairing the machine and was leaving the area when he fell into the equipment.
Atienza’s cousin and co-worker heard a noise coming from the machine and saw a co-worker shouting to stop the equipment.
The operator stopped the machine and they saw victim’s mangled body. Atienza died on the spot from severe injuries.
Follow-up investigation to determine who is responsible for the incident is ongoing.
