2 women die in motorcycle mishap

BACOLOD CITY â€“ Two women on their way to attend the 50th Dinagsa Festival in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental were killed after their motorcycle hit a center island on the access road in Barangay Cabahug, Cadiz City, on Sunday, January 28.

Police identified the victims as motorcycle driver Judy Ann Rapana, 21, and back rider, Angel Clarito, 20, both residents of Sagay City.

Police Lt. Col. John Joel Batusbatusan, Cadiz police chief, said Rapana was allegedly speeding and lost control of the motorcycle which hit a center island and rammed a steel post.

Batusbatusan said that Rapana probably failed to control her speed since she was not used to driving a motorcycle.

The victims succumbed to head injuries, police said.
