Top PRO-6 anti-narcotics cop feted


ILOILO CITY – The Philippine National Police (PNP) awarded a policeman for leading the operation that resulted in the seizure of shabu worth P40.8 million in Iloilo last year.

Police Capt. Glenn Soliman of the Police Regional Office-6 was bestowed the Medalya ng Kadakilaan (Medal of Honor) for outstanding commitment and contribution to the PNP’s anti-illegal drug campaign during the 33rd PNP Foundation Day on Monday, January 29.

Executive Secretary Justice Lucas Bersamin pinned the medal on Soliman.  

Also present were during the awarding were Secretary Benhur Abalos of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and PNP chief Police Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr.

Soliman’s unit, the Regional Police Drug Unit (RPDEU), bagged six kilos of shabu during a December 17, 2023 anti-drug operation in Janiuay town.

Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Villaflor, PRO-6 chief, said that this stopped the huge flow of shabu supply intended for the 2024 Dinagyang Festival over the weekend.
