These European bag brands should be on your radar

Corso Como 88 marks the opening of its Makati store with the launch of its newest bags and fragrances

Apart from its ancient structures and passion for pasta, Italy is also best known as the home of Milan, one of the major fashion capitals in the world. The country is blessed with artisans who can bring to life wearable pieces that echo their heritage and stories. Among its products that truly champion Italian craftsmanship are bags.

Whether it is something small for special events or roomy for everyday use, bags made in Italy are among the top picks of fashion-savvy individuals. They are masterpieces anyone can carry anywhere. Big design houses have made their lasting mark in the industry because of their bag creations. Think of Gucci, Bottega Venta, Versace, and Prada, among others. Lucky for us, we don’t need to book a trip to Italy just to get our hands on these special arm candies thanks to Corso Como 88

The multi-brand store kicks off the new year with the opening of its newest store located at One Ayala in Makati City. Corso Como 88 also introduced its store's latest additions of coveted bag brands from Europe. If you're a big lover of bags, below are some brands that should also be on your radar.

Buti Pelletterie

Much like other Italian ventures, Buti Pelletterie is a family business. Its story started in Tuscany during the '50s with its founder Pilade Buti. He worked with artisans from Firenze City, which the brand described as the homeland of leather goods. Buti Pelletterie is popular for its bags with sleek leather designs in timeless shapes made of calfskin and nappa leather.

Biagini

Biagini is famous for its totes and briefcases with classic yet contemporary styles. First known as "Silvano Biagini," it was founded in Bologna in 1968 and was later led by the Amidei family in 1999. At the core of the brand is authenticity, which is reflected by the materials it uses down to its artisanal techniques. While it may sound purist, the brand is not afraid to experiment in its design process, from color picks to geometric shapes, allowing it to create pieces that are striking and unique.

Iaccuci

Founded in 1976, Iaccuci puts the spotlight on the artisanal leatherwork of Abruzzo, Italy. With its play in hues and leather manipulation, the brand was able to produce timeless interpretations of Italian luxury for contemporary men and women.

Jiano

Georgian brand Jiano is not afraid to go bold with its bag designs. Through its creations, the brand presents “a balance of whimsy and elegance.” Its penchant for geometric shapes and unusual silhouettes makes each of its creations a true statement piece.

Apart from offering new European handbags, Corso Como 88 also brings to the Philippines fragrance labels Acqua dell’Elba and Bottega Italiana Spigo 1920 (BOIS 1920). Acqua dell’Elba boasts many fresh and aquatic fragrances, while BOIS 1920 is a family-founded house popular for its elegant artisan perfumes.

"Corso Como 88 is all about celebrating your unique style. We believe in treating yourself to pieces that reflect your personality, whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting to build your wardrobe," CEO Imelda Menguito-Sciandra said. "At Corso Como 88, we've made it our mission to offer high-quality European fashion at competitive prices, so everyone can experience the joy of self-expression through fashion."
