CAVITE – The local government unit (LGU) of Silang announced the cancellation of classes to give residents a chance to enjoy the festivities lined up for the town fiesta.

From Feb. 1 to 3, classes are suspended at all levels, public and private.

“Ang pagdiriwang ng ating fiesta ay panahon ng pagpapahalaga sa ating kultura at tradisyon bilang isang bayan. Ito rin ay pagkakataon upang magkasama-sama ang bawat pamilyang Silangueño sa mga makulay na gawain at pagtitipon (The celebration of our fiesta is a time to value our culture and traditions as a community. It is also an opportunity for every family in Silang to come together in colorful activities and gatherings),” Mayor Kevin Amutan Anarna said in a Facebook post.

The local government prepared a roster of activities to celebrate the feast of Our Lady of Candelaria, including a grand parade, street dancing, and Silang Music Festival.
