Kim Nam-joo, Cha Eun-woo star in Korean mystery drama 'Wonderful World' on Disney+

Korean actress Kim Nam-joo and K-pop idol-actor Cha Eun-woo will be starring in the upcoming mystery drama “Wonderful World” that will premiere on Disney+ on March 1. 

In the drama, Kim Nam-joo, who starred in the hit series “Queen of Housewives,” plays the role of Eun Soohyun, a successful professor suffering from depression following the death of her son; and Cha Eun-woo, star of “True Beauty” and “A Good Day to be a Dog,” portrays the role of Gwon Seonyul, a medical school dropout who bonds with Soohyun over their similar traumas.

Directed by Yi Seungyoung (“Tracer,” “Voice 2”) and written by Kim Jieun (“Lie After Lie,” “Cheongdam-dong Scandal”), “Wonderful World” tells the story of Eun Soohyun who will go to extraordinary lengths to exact revenge for the death of her son. 

After a successful career that saw Eun Soohyun climb to the top of her field as a professor of psychology and a household name as a writer, she is brought crashing back to earth following the death of her son at the hands of others. Driven into a spiraling depression, Soohyun becomes consumed by one thought – revenge.

“Wonderful World” also stars Kim Kang-woo and Im Se-mi. 

This is Kim Nam-joo’s comeback drama in six years after starring in “Misty” in 2018. 

For Cha Eun-woo, “Wonderful World” is his second consecutive MBC drama after last year’s “A Good Day to be a Dog.”

Cha Eun-woo and Im Se-mi are reunited in “Wonderful World” after working together in the 2020 drama “True Beauty.” 

“Wonderful World” joins a whole host of award-winning Korean content now available on Disney+, including “Moving,” about a group of South Korean spies working to protect their super powered children from harm and exploitation at the hands of malicious government agencies; as well as “The Worst of Evil” - a fast-paced crime thriller that sees volatile police officer Park Junmo infiltrate a dangerous new gang in an attempt to bring them down from the inside; as well as an extensive library of APAC originals and beloved international movies and shows.

“Wonderful World” will stream on Disney+ on March 1.
