Korean stars IU and Park Bo-gum will be headlining a new drama on Netflix.
Netflix announced on Jan. 30 that IU and Park Bo-gum will star in “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” which will be released in 190 countries.

“When Life Gives You Tangerines,” which began filming last year, is about the story of Ae-sun (IU), “the remarkable rebel” from Jeju Island, and Gwan-sik (Park Bo-gum), “the unyielding iron.”
Actress Moon So-ri and actor Park Hae-joon (“The World of the Married”) will play the adult versions of Ae-sun and Gwan-sik, respectively.
The title “When Life Gives You Tangerines” is a variation of the phrase “When life gives you lemons. Tangerine is a popular fruit in Jeju Island.
“When Life Gives You Tangerines” is directed by Kim Won-suk (“Misaeng: Incomplete Life,” “Signal,” “My Mister”) and written by Lim Sang-chun (“Fight for My Way,” “When the Camellia Blooms”).
