Fire hits warehouse, commercial building in QC, Caloocan; 3 hurt


Three persons were reported hurt in a fire that gutted a warehouse on Quirino Highway, Barangay  Balon Bato,  Ilalim ng Tulay, Quezon City early morning on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) identified the victims as Jerico Sales 21; Rodito Merondilla, 26;  and Michael Fajardo, 37. They sustained multiple burns in different parts of their bodies.

The BFP said the warehouse fire started at about 3:46 a.m. and was raised to the second alarm at 3:56 a.m.

It was declared under control at around 6:42 a.m.

Fire responders extinguished the blaze at around 7:20 a.m.

Meanwhile, a commercial area on Camia Street, Barangay 185, Caloocan City was also hit by a fire at around 9:08 p.m. on Tuesday.

Authorities raised the fire status to the second alarm at around 10:28 p.m.

It was declared under control at 10:58 p.m. and was extinguished at 11:21 p.m.

Arson probers have yet to determine the cause of the fire and amount of damage to properties in both incidents.
