‘Amihan’ continues to bring cold weather; Metro Manila temp at 20°C


As the northeast monsoon continues to bring cold weather, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Metro Manila was among the top 10 areas in the country with the lowest temperatures on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

PAGASA said a temperature of 20°C was recorded at the Science Garden monitoring station in Quezon City at around 2 a.m.

Based on the daily temperature updates of PAGASA, the lowest temperature recorded in Metro Manila this year was 19.9°C on Jan. 27.

Meanwhile, Baguio City had the lowest temperature of 11.8°C on Jan. 30.

The city’s lowest temperature recorded this year was 9.8°C on Jan. 27.

Meanwhile, La Trinidad, Benguet came in second with a temperature of 12.2°C on Jan. 30.

The lowest temperature recorded in La Trinidad this year was 9.7°C on Jan. 29.

Other areas with the lowest temperatures on Jan. 30 were Basco, Batanes (18.2°C); Tanay, Rizal (18.3°C); Laoag City, Ilocos Norte (18.5°C); Sinait, Ilocos Sur (19.2°C); Abucay, Bataan (19.9°C); Dagupan City, Pangasinan (19.9°C); and Tuguegarao City, Cagayan (20°C).
