The Taguig City government announced on Wednesday, Jan. 3, that it will temporarily provide medical teleconsultations to residents in EMBO (enlisted men’s barrio) barangays after the closure of health centers in the areas.
Last year, the Supreme Court ruled and transferred 10 EMBO barangays from Makati to Taguig City.

In an announcement, the Makati City government said based on the Supreme Court decision, starting Jan. 1, the yellow cards issued to residents of the 10 EMBO barangays are no longer valid.
In addition, all health centers and lying-in in the EMBO areas are now closed as the license to operate for the facilities has expired.
Following the announcement, the Taguig City government said for the meantime, it will provide teleconsultations to EMBO residents.
It claimed that the Makati City government refused to turn over the health facilities to the Taguig City government.
The Taguig teleconsultation hotlines are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday to Friday, giving residents free medical check-up and referral, prescriptions and laboratory requests.

For those who want a face-to-face consultation with a doctor, the Taguig City government said its 31 health centers and three super health centers are open and will receive patients from EMBO barangays.
