Police nab Caraga's No. 8 most wanted

BUTUAN CITY – The No. 8 most wanted person in the Caraga region was arrested by the police in Las Nieves, Agusan del Norte on December 27.

Agusan del Norte Police Provincial Office (PPO) Director Police Col. Filemon O. Pacios said the suspect, “Junjun,” 31, was nabbed by the Las Nieves Municipal Police Station (MPS) in Purok 2, Barangay Casiklan.

Junjun, who did not resist arrest, was arrested on a warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 1, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte dated November 28, 2023, for qualified rape. The court recommended no bail for the suspect.

Pacios said the suspect allegedly raped the daughter of his live-in partner at about 3 a.m. on April 20, 2023 in Las Nieves.

“The unwavering dedication and exceptional efforts of the personnel of Las Nieves MPS with the active support of the external stakeholders and the community led to the successful arrest of the sexual offender wanted person, showcasing their commendable commitment to public safety of Agusan del Norte and to the entire Caraga region,” Pacios added.
