Ilocos Norte logs 21 firecracker victims

LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte – This province recorded 21 fireworks-related injuries during the New Year’s Eve celebration.

Dr. Rickson Balalio, officer-in-charge of the Provincial Health Office, said that most of the victims sustained hand injuries due to “Kwitis.”

Most of the FWRIs were from Bacarra town, with some in Laoag City, Batac City, Paoay, Pasuquin, Pinili, San Nicolas, Banna, Piddig, and Solsona, he said.

Eighteen were adults and three were minors, Balalio added.
