Foreigner found dead along Pasig River

The lifeless body of a male foreigner was found floating along the Pasig River near C5 in Barangay Bagong Ilog, Pasig City on Tuesday, Jan. 2, barangay officials said.

A security guard working at a nearby establishment reported to them the discovery of the body at around 7 a.m. of Jan. 2.

Authorities estimated the victim to be around 50 to 60 years *old and was wearing a red shirt with the logo of a store with an address in Mandaluyong City. No IDs or any material that can identify the man was recovered from his body.

The police investigators said the man may have been dead for two to three days already based on its state of decomposition.

The police, together with the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), are still investigating if the man's death was accidental or there was foul play involved.
