Every second Sunday of February, the people of Pateros mark the Feast of Sta. Marta. This year, the feast falls on Feb. 11.
For the Feast of Sta. Marta, Pateros will have the Pagoda sa Daan and Pandangguhan.
But due to health and traffic concerns, the mayor announced changes in the schedule of the Pagoda sa Daan, which is usually done Saturday morning.
He said, “We observed that our traditional Pagoda sa Daan in the morning of Saturday has become hard for participants and those waiting in the streets because of heat from the sun.”
According to the mayor, dancers could not endure the heat and there were incidents of dizziness and fainting, and others were taken to the hospital.
This year, the Pagoda sa Daan will be held in the evening of Feb. 9 and will now be called Pagoda sa Daan Parade of Lights.
Meanwhile, the venue of the Pandangguhan will be transferred to the Pateros Elementary School Multi-purpose Building in Barangay San Pedro.
