PAGASA warns of flash floods, landslides in Mindanao areas
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Monday, Jan. 29 advised the public to be vigilant against flash floods or landslides in Mindanao areas due to occasional moderate to heavy rains.

Weather expert Obet Badrina said during PAGASA's 4 a.m. live weather forecast that cloud clusters moving toward Mindanao's eastern region could bring rains to the area in the next 24 hours.
PAGASA said the trough or extension of the low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine area of responsibility will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms to Caraga and Davao Region.
The rest of Mindanao will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it added.
Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and Eastern Visayas may experience cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan."
PAGASA said amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains to Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
