Speaking before a prayer rally here hours after the Bagong Pilipinas kickoff rally in Manila, Duterte, the father of Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, called on the people to reject plans to amend the Constitution through the People’s Initiative.
The former Chief Executive also said that during his presidency, he found Marcos’ name in the watchlist of personalities, government officials, and employees involved in illegal drugs.
He added that if everything fails, he would direct the military to remove Marcos from his post and he run again for the presidency by God's grace.
"Mister President, baka susunod ka sa dinaanan ng tatay mo. Diyan ako natatakot, it will divide the nation," Duterte said.
Hours earlier in a forum, his son, Mayor Baste Duterte here, called for the resignation of Marcos.

"Mr. President, kung wala kay gugma ug aspiration sa nasud, resign (if you do not have love and aspiration for the country, just resign)," Mayor Duterte at the Hakbang ng Maisug Forum at Grand Men Seng Hotel.
Mayor Duterte said he is dismay over the country's current status, particularly the reported proliferation of illegal drugs and various crime incidents not only here but also nationwide.
Also in attendance during the prayer rally was the Vice President, who was also in Luneta earlier in the day. She called on the people to reject PI.
