Willie Revillame hints at running for Senate in 2025: 'Palagay ko handa na ako'

Willie Revillame, a popular game show host, expressed his readiness to run for senator in 2025.

Revillame made the statement during the protest rally in Davao City Sunday night. He delivered an emotional speech in front of former President Rodrigo Duterte and Senator Bong Go amid a cheering crowd. Part of Willie's speech:

"It is an honor for me na maimbitahan ng isang former president ng Pilipinas.

"Last March, two years ago, pinatawag po ako ni Sen. Bong Go, ng mahal na pangulo at ako ay kinausap nila sa Malakanyang.

"Yun po yung pinapatakbo niya ako bilang senator. During that time, meron po akong programa sa GMA yung Wowowin.

"Sabi ko mahal na pangulo, meron pa po akong kontrata at hindi ko pa po kaya. Paghanda na po ako pag iisipan ko.

"A lot of times marami kaming paguusap. Sabi nila kung ano ang nasa puso mo, sundin mo. Hindi po nila ako pinilit. Ang sabi lang nila sa akin, kung ano ang nasa puso mo Willie, yun ang gawin natin. That was three years ago during Covid-19.

"Tapos nagdecision ako, nagdasal ako at hindi ako nakatulog, at naluluha ako dahil isang karangalan sa tulad kong TV host, na alukin ng isang presidente ng Pilipinas, na magsilbi sa bayan.

"Ang sabi niya, mahal ka ng tao, pareho tayong mahal natin ang mga kababayan natin, kailangan ka namin sa Senado.

 

 

"Noon sinabi nyo yun sa akin, sinabi nyo kailangan hindi kayo mapahiya, kaya po ako tumanggi sa inyo. Noong tumawag sa akin si Senator Bong Go, sabi ko hindi ko pa po kaya.

"Sabi ninyo sa akin, 'Saludo ako, saludo ako sa'yo Willie dahil sinunod mo ang puso mo.' Isang presidente po ang nag-alok sa akin, itataas ko ang kamay mo, sasamahan kita kahit saan. Hindi pa po ako handa.

"Mahal na pangulo, pinagdasal ko po itong mabuti. Ang sabi ko, dapat hindi pulitiko ang tawag sa mga nagsisilbi sa bayan. Dapat publiko-serbisyo. Public servant. Kapag nahaluan ng pulitiko, andyan ang away, andyan ang ego. Ang sarap ng bansang hindi nag-aaway, walang kulay na pinipili. Nagkakaisa, nagmamahalan."

"Kung ano po ang desisyon ninyo, palagay ko handa na ako."
