The apparent mixing of prayers and poltical agendas by some personalities has rubbed another congressman the wrong way.
In statement Sunday, Jan. 28, House Minority Leader 4Ps Party-list Rep. Marcelino Libanan asked everybody to refrain from using church as a venue to air political statements.
"Let us all avoid using the pulpit as a platform to broadcast masked political remarks, or as a stage for political advancement," Libanan said.
"I appeal to all leaders and citizens alike to uphold the blessedness of faith in public life, and to ensure that all our actions, words, and prayers are consistent with the genuine pursuit of the greater good, under God’s guidance and grace," he said.

Libanan, as an ex-Catholic seminarian, says the "sacred boundaries of faith and the operational ethics of politics" are of great import to him.
"I have always believed in the separation of church and state, and in the purity of worship unblemished by worldly pursuits," he said.
"The sanctity of our prayers should not be overshadowed or darkened by political agendas," added the veteran solon.
