LPA trough, 'amihan' to bring rain showers over parts of PH
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday, Jan. 28, said it monitors a Low Pressure Area (LPA) outside the country's area of responsibility (PAR) which trough or extension may bring rain showers to parts of Mindanao in the next 24 hours.

In PAGASA's latest live broadcast, weather specialist Veronica Torres said the LPA has a slim chance of entering PAR.
However, PAGASA said the trough or extension of the LPA may bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN (South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, General Santos).
PAGASA warned of flash floods or landslides that may occur in the affected areas during moderate to heavy rains.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, locally known as "amihan," will bring Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga cloudy skies with light rains.
In Metro Manila and the rest of the country, PAGASA said partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will prevail also due to "amihan."
