Heavy traffic along Quezon Blvd due to Bagong Pilipinas Rally
Motorists experienced heavy traffic along Quezon Boulevard in Quiapo, Manila, hours before the Bagong Pilipinas Kick-Off Rally on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 28.


Commuters complained as there were only few jeep on the roads due to road closures.
Traffic enforcers said Lagusnilad was closed at noon on Sunday, which made the traffic heavier.
Some jeepney drivers said the event should not be held on Sunday as many churchgoers in Quiapo are also on the road to attend Mass.
Teodolo, a 56-year-old jeepney driver, said if he had known the traffic would be this bad, he would have just stayed at home to rest since it is Sunday.
Several vehicles with banners of Bagong Pilipinas were seen in Quezon Boulevard heading to Quirino Grandstand.
At least 200,000 people from around the country are expected to attend the event.
President Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos and other key officials in Malacañang are anticipated to arrive at the venue.
Authorities advise those who do not have important errands to stay at home to avoid the traffic.
