Defensor assures bigger Kasadyahan in 2025

ILOILO CITY – Gov. Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. assured a bigger Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahan contest among festivals in the towns of Iloilo province next year after a successful hosting of the event here last week.

Defensor said on Monday, January 29, that other towns have signified intention with the Iloilo Provincial Culture, Arts, History, and Tourism Office to join the 2025 edition.

The Iloilo provincial government hosted the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, the penultimate event of the annual Dinagyang Festival, for the first time.

The Tultugan Festival of Maasin emerged as this year’s champion when it performed a depiction of the town’s thriving bamboo industry.

The Hirinugyaw-Suguidanonay Festival of Calinog town, last year’s champion, was first runner-up.

The Kasadyahan on January 27 also featured Saad Festival of Leganes town, Pantat Festival of Zarraga town, Kasag Festival of Banate town, Kaing Festival of Leon town, Banaag Festival of Anilao town, Cry of Jelicuon Festival of New Lucena town, and Katagman Festival of Oton town.

This year event had the theme “Fun, Foodie, Friendly Iloilo.”

“For now, let us enjoy the success of the Kasadyahan and be proud of yourselves and be proud of the provincial government,” Defensor added.
