Cordillera cops ride a bike for SAF 44


BAGUIO CITY – The Police Regional Office-Cordillera headed by Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. and Mayor Benjamin Magalong here led the National Remembrance of SAF 44 Bike Ride 2024 on Sunday, January 28.

The activity in honor of the fallen commandos in Mamasapano, Maguindanao on January 15, 2015 was initiated by the Baguio City Police Office and was actively participated in by PRO-Cordillera lawmen and other bike enthusiasts.

The bike ride started at the Burnham Biking Area here and ended at Camp Major Bado Dangwa, La Trinidad, Benguet where a simple program was held at the PRO-Cordillera Masigasig Grandstand.

Peredo and Magalong conveyed their message of support for the  activity and a film viewing of SAF 44 documentary was also conducted.

"As we commemorate the heroism of the gallant SAF 44 through the Bike Ride 2024, which aims not only to remember their sacrifices but also to promote a strong and healthy body and to continue the partnership between and among the community and other stakeholders, we also give our best and stand firm to do our duties and responsibilities. Nonetheless, let us continue to remain strong, unshaken, and in shared solidarity as keepers of peace and managers of orderliness in our region," Peredo said.

"To the gallant SAF 44, our snappiest salute to your bravery, we are wholeheartedly thankful for your service and sacrifice, in defending our country and people," Peredo added.

After the program, the bike ride proceeded and ended at the convention center here.
