2 dead, 4 hurt in Kalinga road collision


TABUK CITY, Kalinga – A driver and his helper were killed and four others were injured in a collision between a truck and a wing van in Barangay Nambaran here on Friday, January 26.

MAP of Tabuk City, Kalinga. Two persons were killed and four were injured in a road accident involving a truck and a wing van in the city.

Police identified the fatalities as Pepito Pagaduan, 46, truck driver, of Barangay San Julian, this city, and Santiago Boquiren Jr., 57, truck helper, from Quezon City.

Initial investigation disclosed that the truck suddenly bumped the wing van from behind while approaching Luyucan Bridge.

The impact of the collision pushed the wing van forward and the truck plunged on a river.

The injured were identified as Serio Paskaran, a companion of the fatalities from Cauayan City, Isabela; Carl Adrian, 36, driver of the wing van and a resident of Santiago City, and his two passengers.

Rescuers were taken to the hospital where Boquiren died on arrival and Pagaduan expired while being treated.

Adrian and the two passengers of the wing van were treated and released from the hospital but were taken by police into custody while a follow-up investigation is ongoing.
