The Manila Police District (MPD) arrested a man and three women after the barangay chairwoman of Barangay 158, Zone 14 in Tondo, Manila reported them for creating trouble while having a drinking session in a public place on Sunday, Jan. 28.
MPD identified the suspects as Richmond Carl Valenzuela, 18; Denice Ondevilla, 19; Richelle Mae Valenzuela, 21; and Rica Mae Tubang, 23, all residents of Tondo, Manila.
According to the police report, Barangay 158 Chairwoman Aurea Marie Fernandez was on her way home when she saw the suspects having a drinking session on the street.
Police said Richmond Valenzuela suddenly approached her for a conversation which led to a heated argument.
It added that the suspects threatened the chairman, threw a drinking glass, and cursed her, saying that they don't care even if she is a chairwoman.
Fernandez remained calm and tried to pacify them but the suspects did not listen.
The chairman decided to file a report against them after not being cooperative, and the personnel of Tayuman Police Community Precinct (PCP) immediately responded to the area and arrested them.
The arrested suspects are now temporarily detained at MPD-Jose Abad Santos Police Station (PS-7) and facing charges for direct assault, physical injuries, alarms and scandal, and drinking in public places.
