BACOLOD CITY – The skeletal remains of a 27-year-old man missing for almost three weeks were found in Sitio Bomba, Barangay Calampisawan, Calatrava, Negros Occidental on Thursday, January 25.

Police identified the victim as Rene Pentecostes, a driver and resident of of Dumarao, Capiz.
Police Major Ronald Santillan, Calatrava police chief, said that a 50-year-old man pasturing his carabao discovered the remains after he noticed foul odor in the area.
Santillan said the victim, who was in this province to visit his girlfriend, was last seen alive on January 2 before leaving for a drinking session.
His girlfriend thought that he returned to Capiz without informing her when he failed to go home that day.
However, after a few days, the victim’s family reached out to her after they could no get in touch with him and it was only that time that she learned that he went missing.
Santillan said Pentecostes’ remains will be subject to autopsy to determine how the victim died.
