Visitors were amazed at the newly constructed walkway beside the Pasig River in Binondo, Manila.

The bridge that connects Binondo to Intramuros, was crowded by thousands of people in the first week after it was launched.

They said the beauty of the new park is comparable to parks in foreign countries.

Bianca, 21, a promenader who came from Pasig, said she was influenced to see the park in person because of the videos she watched on TikTok.

"Mala-Venice, Italy po 'yong style niya (Its style is like the one in Venice, Italy)," she added.

The new walkway adds to the checklist of tourist destinations in Intramuros and Binondo.

Street sweeper Presy, 47, said she is happy that the crowd has returned to Jones Bridge as only a few people used to visit the place after the pandemic.

However, she asked the public to avoid littering in the new park to maintain its order and beauty.

The public is also asked to be responsible for their belongings and stay alert for pickpockets.

Manila Police District Director Brig. Gen. Thomas Ibay assured the parkgoers of the police presence in the area.

"May presence na ng police to keep the area safe for the visitors sa area to include Jones Bridge (There is a police presence to secure the visitors in the area, including Jones Bridge)," Ibay said.

Manila police said no untoward incidents have been recorded since the walkway was opened to the public.
